Sonnet to a Drawer

Posted by

In this drawer opens a catastrophe

Waiting patient to escape from lost to found

China from Japan from Korea’s battleground

Shiny celebrations tease the young with immortality

Glowing prideful objects surviving their design

Where will they go from here, this chaos of our life?

Organized in the drive when the weather’s nice

Accepting when the price is right few can decline

No estate in the union for these memories

Gone quiet anxious fights and love

Remember where we put those keys?

Took us here, or we with them, to begin thereof

Piece by piece our collection from a century

Tears of amber frozen safe our hearts a treasury.
